Blur Tolerance in Different Subjects' Refraction Profile: Poster

Blur Tolerance in Different Subjects' Refraction Profile: Poster

Originally presented at the 2025 ECVP Conference in Mainz, Germany

This poster introduces a new visual perception metric designed to measure how individuals with different refractive profiles tolerate optical blur.

Using eye-tracking data, the study demonstrates that visual performance is not fully captured by visual acuity (VA) alone. Instead, fixation time and VA together offer a more comprehensive picture of perceptual loss when blur is introduced.

The findings show clear differences between hyperopes and myopes, as well as across addition levels, contributing new insight for lens designers and clinicians working to improve patient visual comfort under real-world conditions.
